What is Custard?

Custard is based on a kind of culinary preparation. To make this you need to mix milk or cream and egg yolk. Depending on how many eggs or thickeners are used, custard has many variations in the consistency of watery sauce (crème Anglaise), until the thick pastry cream for filling éclair. Custard most commonly used as a dessert or dessert sauce that usually includes sugar and vanilla. Custard base can also be used for savoury foods also quiches.
